Football Federation Australia which Chief Ben Buckley Lucas Neill has denied led a revolt against the tactics of former coach Pim Verbeek during last year's World Cup in South Africa.

Respected football commentator Les Murray claimed that a revolt locker room against Verbeek preceded Australia 4-0 defeat to Germany Germany

Murray says in his book The World Game players took exception with Verbeek of game plan prior to the match in Durban, claim Captain Neill asked him to leave the room before telling players the Dutchman tactics were "nonsense."

The loss proved the downfall of Australia campaign, since they went on to draw with Ghana and beating Serbia but narrowly miss out on the knock-out phase.

However, Buckley endorsed Neill as one of the most beautiful AZ. masters of all time.

"Lucas Neill has over the past five years, demonstrated exceptional leadership" Buckley said in a statement.

"He stands tall as an Australian sporting leader of the highest quality."

Buckley rejected the allegations of Murray.

"No one involved in the AZ. in South Africa can remember any incident with the slightest resemblance to what is described in the contemporary press," he said.
